Hillary Clinton today brought up the assassination of Sen. Robert Kennedy while defending her decision to stay in the race against Barack Obama.

"My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it," she said, dismissing calls to drop out.

Obama's camp immediately fired back.

"Sen. Clinton's statement before the Argus Leader editorial board was unfortunate and has no place in this campaign," Obama campaign spokesman said in a statement.

Clinton made her comments at a meeting with the Sioux Falls Argus-Leader's editorial board while campaigning in South Dakota, where she complained that, "People have been trying to push me out of this ever since Iowa."

Obama, the first African-American to advance so far in the race for the White House, has faced threats, sources have said.

Robert Kennedy, the younger brother of President John F. Kennedy, was gunned down in 1968 after winning the California primary. He had been a hero on the left for his civil rights agenda and calls to end the war in Vietnam.

Barack Obama, who leads Clinton by nearly 200 delegates and has already secured a majority of pledged delegates, has been the subject of threats. Early in the campaign, the Secret Service gave him a security detail at the request of Sen. Richard Durbin (D-Illinois).

Clinton criticized an "urgency" to end the campaign prematurely, saying, "Historically, that makes no sense."

She later issued an apology for the remark.

"I regret that if my referencing that moment of trauma for our entire nation and in particular the Kennedy family was in any way offensive. I certainly had no intention of that whatsoever," the former first lady said.

Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson defended the comments to The Post, "She was talking about the length of the race and using the '68 election as an example of how long the races in the past have gone -- she used her husband's race in the same vein."

The "Dream Ticket" is a possiblility

The so called "Dream Ticket" of Obama and Clinton is coming closer and closer. In all seriousness this is what I wanted all along but Hillary had to go and F it up by talking crap about Obama. I wonder after all their S slinging if they can actually be on the same ballot without either of them looking like a tartuffe? The dems seems to have this election all but wrapped up but the inner battles between the candidates have to be squashed or I fear that Bush the third (McCain) will actually have a shot at ruining/running the country again.

Brother Obama is growing on me

I have been complaining to a lot of people of my doubts in voting for Obama because I just didn't think that he had done anything. The man gave a speech 3 years ago and people were like "make that man president." I felt even worse about that view because I am African American and I feel like I should support him. So today instead of continuing my own rederict I decided to read up on his views and plan for the nation. After doing some research I have to admit that I am a bit impressed. Anyway, here is a speech he gave on religion and politics. He was honest about his own uncertainty in organized religion which kind of hits home for me. So here it is.

Hmm I wonder who McCain Supports?

I read this post on Digg and I just couldn't believe what I saw. The man is a freggin moron or at minimum not abreast on any current social issues. I already didn't like the mans policies (Bush right bahhh Bush right bahh) but this just confirmed everything I thought.

There are so many reasons John McCain should not be President. But an interaction with a reporter today on his Not-So-Straight Talk bus pretty much confirmed it.

McCain was stumped by a very simple question -- a question that can be answered with a modicum of research. He was stumped by a question that can mean the difference between life and death. He was stumped by a question that every responsible adult in American should know the answer to. He doesn't know if condoms can help stop the spread of HIV. Seriously:

Q: “What about grants for sex education in the United States? Should they include instructions about using contraceptives? Or should it be Bush’s policy, which is just abstinence?”

Mr. McCain: (Long pause) “Ahhh. I think I support the president’s policy.”

Q: “So no contraception, no counseling on contraception. Just abstinence. Do you think contraceptives help stop the spread of HIV?”

Mr. McCain: (Long pause) “You’ve stumped me.”

Q: “I mean, I think you’d probably agree it probably does help stop it?”

Mr. McCain: (Laughs) “Are we on the Straight Talk express? I’m not informed enough on it. Let me find out. You know, I’m sure I’ve taken a position on it on the past. I have to find out what my position was. Brian, would you find out what my position is on contraception – I’m sure I’m opposed to government spending on it, I’m sure I support the president’s policies on it.”

Q: “But you would agree that condoms do stop the spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Would you say: ‘No, we’re not going to distribute them,’ knowing that?”

Mr. McCain: (Twelve-second pause) “Get me Coburn’s thing, ask Weaver to get me Coburn’s paper that he just gave me in the last couple of days. I’ve never gotten into these issues before.”

Could John McCain be this much of an idiot? Could he be so stupid about basic health policy? Could he be so beholden to the theocrats that he wouldn't answer such an obvious question?

My views -- Not saying they are right but they are mine.

Tonight I have been thinking quite a bit about my political stance on issues for some reason. I am in the middle of buying a house, taking my finals, and just generally busy yet my mind is occupied by what my political stance should be. I think this topic has been thrown up in my head by the repeated calls from various parties asking for my support. Monetarily of course. Obama, the republicans, Kerry, Christopher Walken, and of course Hilary reps have all called asking for my hard earned dollars. Well I am going to put my true feelings to rest right now. I don't like none of you SOBs/DOBs (Well maybe Christopher Walken lol). All of you all are out for self. Be it power, prestige, money, or whatever, you just aren't there for the people that truly need your help.

I think my other problem is I don't believe in war in general. Most wars come down to its leaders. I figure why drag an entire country down with you. Lets do it death match style so you can put your own asses on the line for what you believe so fervently in. (Two men enter, one man leave lol) I know that sounds oh so very democratic but it isn't. It is humanistic. I'm an independent damn it! Yes I want universal health care but I also what a flat tax which is libertarian. I also believe in small government at the same time which is republican. Abortion is wrong in my eyes but it is not my decision nor my body so I am pro-choice (I do want to say if I could carry a child, I would; because I feel it is a honor to be given that type of responsibility over a life). I have never touched an illegal drug in my life yet I feel far to much tax money is spent trying to stop it instead of using it as another form of taxed income. We all know it is just a matter of time anyway. Marbol has already trademarked Marbol Greens just in case.

Grow the economy by supporting small business cause big business will always be just that, BIG.

Ok one more issue. I believe reparations are owed not because of Lincoln but because the country to a point was developed on the back of unwilling participants. I am a part of an African American generation that has little hope of being able to find where we originally come from. How can I have a sense of pride about a country that cut me off from my ancestry. Don't get me wrong, a great deal of African life well--sucks. I'm greatful I am in a better situation, but that is not good enough. Native Americans got land, I want mine damn it!

Ok I have laid it out a bit. Like it or hate it, it is me.
