Today is the the day!
Well it has been a long ride but the day is finally here. By the end of today sans any craziness we will have a new president elect. Of course I am pulling for Obabma but either way history will be made in that a minority will either hold the highest seat in the land or co-seat lol. It is a historic day I just hope everyone will stay sane today. The catch with all this change coming is that emotions are so high that I am honestly scared for peoples lives. I just saw on the news that the polling lines are rapped around buildings in the rain. As great a civic action as this is I just see a recipe for trouble. I keep thinking about that person who doesnt know you arent allowed to wear political parafanelia (except in Virgnia Beach lol) coming into the polls with a t-shirt on with their prescribed canidate getting rejected from the polling place and then tempers flairing. I just really hope people keep their cool and allow this day to happen peacefully.

My new ink and some old ink touched up
I finally got the second part to my tattoo project. Back in 2000 I got the top tattoo to signify my passage from high school to college. It means "Truthful and Special". Yesterday I finally got one for graduating college and all the things that came along with that time. It means "Warrior". When I finish my Masters I want to get a Chinese dragon to tie it all in.

1994 Volvo 850 AC and REC lights blinking fix
The first thing I tried was to replace the blower motor. I got one off eBay for $70 and installed it pretty easily but it didn't work.
The second thing I did was to replace the ECC (the electronic controls in the dash). I bought it for $80 on eBay and it didn't work either.
I finally broke down and took it to a shop fully expecting to pay around $1000 to get it working. They diagnosed the problem and they told me it was the resister pack (they didn't charge me either..thanks Norman Young!!). I looked online and couldn't find it. I called my local Volvo dealer and told the lady the problem and she said the name of the resister pack is the "Power Unit". I went to the dealer and bought it for $89 and bo-bam after 2 months my fan worked without a problem!! Apparently that is a very common problem with the ECC units.
I hope that helps someone out there with a similar issue.

Ferengi Rules of Acquisistion (Finally watching DS9 from begining to end)
- Once you have their money ... never give it back.
- Never pay more for an acquisition than you have to.
- Never allow family to stand in the way of opportunity.
- A man is only worth the sum of his possessions. (From Enterprise, episode "Acquisition"; sloppy script-writing, as rule 6 (see above) was already given in DS9)
- Keep your ears open.
- Small print leads to large risk.
- Opportunity plus instinct equals profit.
- Greed is eternal.
- Anything worth doing is worth doing for money.
- A deal is a deal ... until a better one comes along.
- A contract is a contract is a contract (but only between Ferengi).
- A Ferengi without profit is no Ferengi at all.
- Satisfaction is not guaranteed.
- Never place friendship above profit.
- A wise man can hear profit in the wind.
- Nothing is more important than your health--except for your money.
- There's nothing more dangerous than an honest businessman.
- Never make fun of a Ferengi's mother ... insult something he cares about instead.
- It never hurts to suck up to the boss.
- Peace is good for business.
- War is good for business.
- She can touch your lobes but never your latinum.
- Profit is its own reward.
- Never confuse wisdom with luck.
- Expand, or die.
- Don't trust a man wearing a better suit than your own.
- The bigger the smile, the sharper the knife.
- Never ask when you can take.
- Good customers are as rare as latinum -- treasure them.
- There is no substitute for success.
- Free advice is seldom cheap.
- Keep your lies consistent.
- The riskier the road, the greater the profit.
- Win or lose, there's always Hyperian beetle snuff.
- Home is where the heart is ... but the stars are made of latinum.
- Every once in a while, declare peace. It confuses the hell out of your enemies.
- Beware of the Vulcan greed for knowledge.
- The flimsier the product, the higher the price.
- Never let the competition know what you're thinking.
- Ask not what your profits can do for you, but what you can do for your profits.
- Females and finances don't mix.
- Enough ... is never enough.
- Trust is the biggest liability of all.
- Nature decays, but latinum lasts forever.
- Sleep can interfere with profit. (DS9 season 2, episode 7 - "Rules of Acquisition")
- Faith moves mountains ... of inventory.
- There is no honour in poverty.
- Dignity and an empty sack is worth the sack.
- Treat people in your debt like family ... exploit them.
- Never have sex with the boss's sister.
- Always have sex with the boss.
- You can't free a fish from water.
- Everything is for sale, even friendship.
- Even a blind man can recognize the glow of latinum.
- Wives serve, brothers inherit.
- Only fools pay retail.
- There's nothing wrong with charity ... as long as it winds up in your pocket.
- Even in the worst of times someone turns a profit.
- Know your enemies ... but do business with them always.
- Not even dishonesty can tarnish the shine of profit.
- Let others keep their reputation. You keep their money.
- Never cheat a Klingon ... unless you're sure you can get away with it.
- It's always good business to know about new customers before they walk in the door.
- The justification for profit is profit.
- New customers are like razortoothed grubworms. They can be succulent, but sometimes they can bite back.
- Employees are rungs on the ladder of success. Don't hesitate to step on them.
- Never begin a negotiation on an empty stomach.
- Always know what you're buying.
- Beware the man who doesn't make time for oo-mox.
- Latinum lasts longer than lust.
- You can't buy fate.
- Never be afraid to mislabel a product.
- More is good ... all is better.
- A wife is a luxury ... a smart accountant is a necessity.
- A wealthy man can afford anything except a conscience.
- Never allow doubt to tarnish your love of latinum.
- When in doubt, lie.
- Deep down everyone's a Ferengi.
- No good deed ever goes unpunished.
- [Quark's rule] When Morn leaves, it's all over.

Death to my Palm OS Centro
After much soul searching and realizing that I would be stuck with the Centro for to long hard years of my life I had to give the puppy back to Verizon and settle for a Blackberry Curve that actually works the way I can deal with until the iPhone leaves AT&T country. So that is my sorted tale of hope dashed. I say a fond farewell to my dear Palm OS and wish it a peaceful burning in the eternal flames of hell.
Much love,
~J
P.S.
I fat fingered the keyboard all the time....make the body of the phone a centimeter bigger so I can actually type on the bastard without having to grow and shape my freggin finger nails into perfectly formed pointers next time too lol.

"Snow Leopard" is No Leopard
Here is Apple's Official Word-
Since 2001, Mac OS X has delivered more than a thousand innovative new features. With Snow Leopard, the next major version of the world’s most advanced operating system, Mac OS X changes more than its spots, it changes focus. Taking a break from adding new features, Snow Leopard — scheduled to ship in about a year — builds on Leopard’s enormous innovations by delivering a new generation of core software technologies that will streamline Mac OS X, enhance its performance, and set new standards for quality. Snow Leopard dramatically reduces the footprint of Mac OS X, making it even more efficient for users, and giving them back valuable hard drive space for their music and photos.
